People Have A Good Idea Of How Attractive They Are

People have a good idea of how attractive they are. This I thought was true. Did you know we may not be as attractive as we think we are? In an experiment, researchers created 11 images from a photo of the participant on the computer. Some were altered to be more attractive, some were altered to be less attractive, and one untouched. They showed all 11 images to the participant and asked the participant to identify the unaltered version. Most people picked prettier versions of themselves instead of recognizing their original face. In another study with 26,000 people, they were asked to rate their own attractiveness from 1 to 10, with 5 being better looking than half of the people. Almost everyone rated themselves at least 6 or 7. That’s statistically impossible.
