今晚尤克強教授為大家介紹的是英國女詩人Christina Rossetti的兩首作品，羅賽提因其長詩《精靈市場》與聖誕歌《In the Bleak Midwinter》而聞名。 第一首Song因為徐志摩曾做過翻譯，後又因被譜曲由張艾嘉，而為眾人熟知。2003年尤克強教授赴北京清華大學任客座教授，展開西洋詩翻譯工作，特別選擇了這首詩，以語言不同的時代差異另作翻譯，展現視覺與聽覺的美麗。 第二首The First Day，更被尤教授選為「今晚我可以讀詩」節目的生日作品，以誌節目於一月四日開播。
